Celebrity Makeup Artist Curates a Handcrafted Signature Line of Organic Lip Colors. Los Angeles-based makeup artist Robert Hensley will be launching a new line of handcrafted, organic lip colors in March, 2015. Formulated with certified organic ingredients, including beeswax, cocoa butter and coconut oil, and colored with pure mineral pigments, Robert Hensley Organic Lip Colors are wonderfully beneficial; moisture-rich, anti-aging and provide protection from harmful UV rays. Although the line will eventually consist of eight colors, two shades launching each month through May, 2015, there are currently two shades (see below) available online for preorder.
“Healthy, soft lips are sexy. It’s that simple,” says Hensley about the inspiration for the line. “When was the last time you wanted to kiss someone with chapped, cracked, flaky lips? As an aesthetician, my goal is keeping my clients’ skin healthy, and I carry that aim into my makeup artistry.”
The Robert Hensley Organic Lip Colors are handcrafted in small batches to ensure quality and consistent coloring. Robert is involved from the processing of solid ingredients to the blending of the mineral pigments. Each lip color is sealed in a tin, and comes with its own lip brush.
“I’m not a fan of traditional lipsticks,” continues Hensley. “They are loaded with chemical preservatives. You pay way too much for interesting packaging from which you can never extract all of the product. I wanted to make something affordable, which provided more cosmetic for the dollar, and above all else, great for your lips. I’m offering double the product (.35 oz), for half the price.”
Hensley is planning a grassroots, social media campaign, which will launch with the second pair of colors in March. The campaign will include video vignettes and editorial stills, featuring actress Jess Jacobs.
