Kathy Bee shared that while spending years working on other projects and helping build other people’s dreams, she realized that many of her own accomplishments had never been properly documented. That realization became even more significant when national attention surrounding Beyoncé’s historic 2024 country music success created renewed interest in the Black women who had already helped pave the way in country music. Kathy Bee began searching for her own history online and discovered that many milestones from her career were missing—including her music, awards, national television appearances, concerts, radio airplay, Nashville appearances, and her country television show K.B. Country.
One major milestone came on October 8, 1988, when her song “Let’s Go Party” achieved chart recognition, including placement on the Billboard Hot Country Charts, Cash Box, and independent country charts. Her story is an important reminder that history must be documented, preserved, shared, and celebrated.
