The Vitamin D Councils mission is to educate the public and health care providers on the importance of vitamin D and to help reduce the global burden of vitamin D deficiency. All that is required to test is a few drops of blood on the spot card provided, which is then shipped to the Councils partnering lab, Heartland Assays. Heartland Assays, a company that provides testing for many large academic studies, uses the highly accurate LC/MS/MStechnique to determine vitamin D levels.Within 1-2 weeks, results are conveniently uploaded to a secure webpage, which can only be accessed by the customers private account information.
